Celebration to Toast Historic Free Trade Agreement in New York CityVery soon, the United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain will sign the historic U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement (USBFTA). To celebrate and to promote increased economic relations between the two nations, the Office of the Economic Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain (OERB) will host a celebration on September 22, 2004 at The New York Palace Hotel in New York City. The luncheon promises to be both rewarding and informative with a distinguished list of speakers comprised of prominent business and government leaders who will describe--in their own words--why they value the relationship between the two countries. Invited guests include notables from the worlds of business, government, and the military in the U.S. and Bahrain.
His Excellency Abdulla H. Saif, Bahraini Minister or Finance and National Economy, commented on the historic agreement, "In the next few months, the friendship between the United States and Bahrain will blossom yet again, completing a circle that was a century in the making. Together we will create a mutually beneficial economic partnership to complement our well-established social, military and political relationships. Ours is a friendship unlike any in the Arabian Gulf region." "The celebratory day--September 22, 2004--will be an opportunity for corporations from both countries to solidify--or, in some cases, establish--their presence as leaders of a new era of business between Bahrain and the United States," added Dr. Naser Al Belooshi, Economic Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States. |
