Bahrain Petroleum Company will need to continue to maintain the production of oil and gas and utilize all modern technologies to explore any opportunities for new networks of oil and gas reserves, Bapco Public Relations Director, Mohammed Shehab said yesterday.
"Bapco needs to apply new technologies for exploration and through GEO 2006, it is looking to get into agreements with companies for exchange of expertise and others," he said while speaking at the GEO Exhibition and Conference. "The GEO 2006 confirms it is important for us. We want our geologists and scientist to exchange ideas and meet various international experts and counterparts in the field of geology and science and share their expertise." "The conferences are very important for us, as they are subjected on specialized field on technology. The world is going to continue a great demand of oil. The world is expanding, the source of oil is going to be on increase. Gas is the top source of energy. We live in an area supposed to be rich in oil. This gives us an initiative to try to maintain production. We have to look for tomorrow's technologies we need to adopt," he added.
The Manager Exploration and Development at Bapco said that the oil reserves figures are dynamic and it changes with technology. Kuwait oil Company (KOC), Manager Public Relations and Information, Abdulkhaleq Al Ali, said: "The KOC is participating in the GEO 2006 conference and exhibition as a national company involved in oil and gas exploration and drilling. This year we are taking part with more than 60 members headed by Chairman of KOC, Fakhroo Al Zaaki, presenting technical posters and chairing sessions."
